I was intrigued by the colors in this parrot’s feathers, and the intelligence in his eyes, and that is how this painting came about.

Beautiful! Reminded me of carolina parakeets. Guess I'm more used to seeing them than cherry headed or mitred conures in art like this. I like how you rendered the head :)
